1. Introduction

Welcome to Waulty ("we", "our", or "us"). Waulty is a warranty and document vault mobile application developed and operated by KarpLabs, a sole-trader software studio .

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Waulty app (iOS and Android) and the website at waulty.karplabs.in (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

2. What data we collect

Data you provide directly

• Product information you enter (product name, purchase date, warranty expiry date, store name).
• Documents you upload (warranty cards, receipts, invoices) stored as image files or PDFs.
• Email address, if you create an account or contact support.

Data we collect automatically

• Basic crash and error reports to fix bugs (via ).
• Anonymous usage statistics (screens visited, feature usage frequency) — no personal identifiers attached.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your precise location.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not use your documents or product data to train machine-learning models.
• We do not display advertisements.

3. How we use your data

• Provide the Service — store and display your warranty documents.
• Send reminders — push notifications when warranties are about to expire.
• Sync & backup — upload documents to your own Google Drive via the Google Drive API (see section 4).
• Improve the app — analyse anonymous usage statistics to prioritise features.
• Customer support — respond to your support requests.
• Legal compliance — retain records where required by applicable law.

We do not use your data for any purpose not listed above without your explicit consent.

4. Third-party services

Waulty uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.

Supabase

Used for user authentication and cloud database. Data is stored on Supabase-managed infrastructure. See the Supabase Privacy Policy.

Google Drive API

If you enable Google Drive backup, Waulty requests permission to read and write files in a dedicated Waulty folder in your Google Drive. We access only that folder. We do not read any other files in your Drive. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Expo / React Native

The app is built with Expo and React Native. Expo may collect certain technical telemetry data. See the Expo Privacy Policy.

5. Data retention & deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Documents stored in your Google Drive backup are controlled by you. Deleting your Waulty account does not automatically remove Google Drive files — you can delete those directly from Google Drive.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Restriction — request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances.

CCPA (California residents): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

GDPR (EEA residents): Our legal basis for processing your data is performance of contract (to provide the Service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (improving the app). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Children's privacy

Waulty is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at abhishek56987+claude@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and encrypted storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy here with an updated effective date, and through an in-app notification where possible.

The URL of this page (https://waulty.karplabs.in/privacy-policy) will never change. It is registered with the App Store, Google Play, and Google OAuth. If the site is restructured, this URL will redirect here permanently.
